Lecture 9: How to Detect Leakage in Air-Conditioner? ( HVAC Course )
As an HVAC engineer, You must have knowledge of technician work. so Here some day to day work given below of AC Technician Like:
Refrigeration System Unit (Technician Work)
1)1st Step: Check the Leakage in the Unit.
2)2nd Step: Use Vacuumization vapor Refrigerant.
3)3rd Step: Do Gas Charging.
4)4th Step: For Recovery the Refrigerant.
Equipment Required
Vacuum Pump with 1-4 horsepower (vacuumization pump)
AC manifold gauge set ( Gauge Manifold )
Nitrogen Gas
Refrigerant (According to AC)
Torx hex key (for Unscrew)
And some patience (more on it later) ?
Gauge Manifold has three pipes:- 1)Low pressure Line (Green) 2)Common Line (Yellow) 3)High Pressure Line (Red)
Note:- For Checking the leakage in pipes we mostly use nitrogen (Because it is suitable for environment.
Refrigerant is store in condenser in small unit in new system (but in large unit system refrigerant we store after installation)
For Providing Nitrogen in the system:-
:- Nitrogen cylinder is connected to the common point of the manifold gauge.
:- Low pressure gauge is connected to the liquid line of service valve.
:- High pressure gauge is connected to the suction line of service valve.
then after all these connection we would start following step for leakage detection in air conditioner
First Open the suction Line Service valve
Second Open the Liquid Line Service valve
Third close low pressure manifold gauge
Fourth open high pressure manifold gauge
Fifth open Nitrogen cylinder.
We must know the max. or min. pressure of refrigerant.
According to Refrigerant Apply nitrogen pressure 25% Extra in the system for leakage detection
